LEARNING WITH MOOCS II - 2015

Online learning has become a global phenomenon with dazzling speed – with innovations across content creation, delivery, feedback, testing and other aspects of the knowledge delivery process. The excitement of MOOCs has revolved around the promise of learning at scale. As a result, the primary focus of the design of MOOCs to date has been on “scale.” It is now time to focus more attention on the design for learning.

LEARNING WITH MOOCS II - 2015 workshop will bring together more than 200 educators, technologists, researchers, learning scientists, entrepreneurs, and funders.

LEARNING WITH MOOCS II - 2015 workshop target is to share their innovations, discuss their impact on education, and to answer questions such as:

  • How can we best support students to learn in an online environment?
  • How can we integrate MOOCs with the traditional classroom experience?
  • For which students and in what contexts are these courses most effective?
  • What can we learn from the rich data streams generated by these platforms?
  • How do we structure the learning activities to produce data streams that better support research?

LEARNING WITH MOOCS II - 2015 topics include but are not restricted to:

LEARNING WITH MOOCS II - 2015 will be held in New York City on the campus of Columbia University at the Cowin Conference Center, Teachers College, October 2 to 3, 2015.
