Does your organization use social media to support online training and education? What are you doing in your organization? Could you please share with us your best practices?

Susan Demoya said: I recently posted a blog "The Power of Social Media in Hospice Education and Training on ways that I think hospice educators could incorporate social media as an educational tool. It seems like such a vast area of opportunity for all educators and I would welcome any comments from the group on how social media is used in your organization for training and education.

Does your organization use social media to support online training and education?

Susie Rebelo Hopkins said: Hi Susan,we use social media to support online training with both students and staff and trying to incorporate it more. One of the applications we are currently using is Mahara that connects to Moodle. Also, to share links with staff and groups of students we use social bookmarking such as Delicious

Lee Webber said: Yes in Avon and Somerset Police in the UK we utilise a social platform which we developed in-house using open source software ELGG. We use it to support many classroom courses. The site has groups, blogs, discussions, on-line chat, file sharing, bookmarks and more. Access to public social media like facebook, youtube is blocked in our sector so we had to build our own solution which is proving to be working really well and getting good feedback from the students. http://www.network5.org.uk

What are you doing in your organization? Could you please share with us your best practices?
