Instructional Designer Job at Louisville
Purpose of the Job:.
Yum University is uniquely positioned to advance the development of all employees. This role is a growth opportunity for a high potential Instructional Designer with 4-6 years experience. Will assume responsibility for creatively designing and developing instructionally sound content to meet the global business objectives, with a focus on leadership, culture, and functional development.
Position Functions:
Project Management
- Uses project management skills to work with project teams and outside vendors to deliver projects on time within cost.
- Collaboratively works with others to achieve best solutions and mutual commitments within a project.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with Subject Matter Experts.
- Appropriately challenges to insure best end product.
Design / Development - Tactics
- Translates strategies into tactics, objectives, and metrics within training that provides vision, skills, and knowledge application.
- Develops effective assessments and reviews.
- Applies experiential learning simulations/games within training development/design when necessary.
- Appropriately challenges to insure best end product.
Design / Development - Strategy
- Designs and develops learning strategies & resources that drive performance improvement, drawing on different approaches that could include traditional instructor-led, self study, virtual classroom, and/or eLearning.
- Provide leadership in the planning, direction, supervision and instructional design in the development of College courses, with emphasis on uses of learning and motivation theory and research and technology.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with Subject Matter Experts.
- Reviews training solutions for diverse populations
- Consults and interacts with clients to assess client needs and drive business and individual performance
Know How Building / Sharing
- Stays up to date on current trends in learning and stays current with what “Best in Class” organizations are doing with learning.
- Provides Overview:s of training to facilitators/trainers; assists facilitators/trainers in learning exercises, background materials, and delivery techniques within the design.
Travel is Project dependent, but not more than 20% - potentially some international travel.
Requirements
Education:
BA or BS Degree in Instructional Systems Design, English, Training/Curriculum Development or related field, 4 to 7 years experience as a Curriculum Designer. Graduate degree in instructional design is desired.
Targeted Experience:
- Experience with consulting and interacting with clients to assess client needs and maintain client relationships to drive business and individual performance
- Track record of designing and developing learning strategies that drive performance improvement, drawing on different approaches that could include traditional instructor-led, virtual classroom, and/or eLearning.
- Experience working with LMS’s and LCMS’s, and an understanding of eLearning development software and standards.
- Experience developing interactive online learning courses.
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with people at all levels within the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals/groups at all levels within the organization.
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, computer literate.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills with a demonstrated history of managing priorities, workflow, and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative, flexible and innovative team player; ability to work effectively within an environment with constantly changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to understand and respond to a diverse population.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity and a positive outlook with a commitment to excellence and high standards.
