Limited Brands – Bath & Body Works located at Columbus, Ohio is looking for an Instructional Designer Manager.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Oversees a team of instructional designers and facilitates the development of training content and core curriculum for all store-level associates in a fast paced environment with competing priorities; serves as a knowledge leader and expert in instructional design and creates innovative on-the-job, self-directed and instructor-led training solutions that ensure genuine learner engagement using relevant and current adult learning theories.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Development and Management:

  • Develop others through continuous coaching, feedback, recognition and encouragement
  • Regularly assess talent and create development strategies to close skill gaps
  • Motivate and develop talent to achieve higher levels of quality, innovation, and personal achievement
  • Challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor

 
Instructional Design

  • Assist in the development of learning agendas based on business goals and objectives
  • Provide design and development oversight for all aspects of program development including needs analysis, design, development, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to influence and align on content
  • Partner in the development of multi-media projects including web, video, eLearning, and audio

 
Project Management

  • Provide project management oversight and execute according to time and budget parameters
  • Increase design team project management capability to drive productivity and hold team accountable for high quality outcomes
  • Coach others on learning projects outside the scope of the team to ensure educational integrity and consistency of messaging

 
Leadership

  • Collaborate through cross functional teams to accomplish established goals and identify and effectively manage relationships with business partners
  • Drive change and challenge the status quo
  • Seek, share and adopt ideas and best practices inside and outside the company to ensure application of instructional design trends

 
SCOPE OF INFLUENCE
 

  • Subject Matter Experts from Store Operations, Human Resources, Field Leadership and the Center

 
QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • College degree in Education, Instructional Design, Learning & Organizational Development, or related field; Master’s degree desirable
  • 3+ years Learning & Development experience  leading a team of instructional designers or specialists in a rapidly changing environment, retail experience preferred
  • Proven track record of talent identification, development, and retention
  • Experience implementing complex, multi-unit, multi-audience learning programs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment with competing priorities
  • Experience with e-learning strategy and development
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, executive presence, and influence in a complex and fast paced environment.
  • 30%-40% Travel Requirement
