Summary
Works collaboratively with members of the department and campus faculty on the appropriate and effective integration of instructional technology into teaching and learning.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supports faculty in the effective and appropriate use of technology for teaching and learning, both online and in the classroom
• Develops and conducts Mahara e-portfolio training workshops for faculty on the use and application of instructional technologies
• Consults with faculty on available e-books resources (platforms, development, usage/implementation, etc.)
• Develops documentation and training materials in support of instructional technologies
• Consults with faculty and other department staff on the identification and implementation of appropriate technology and instructional strategies to meet student learning outcomes
• Keeps abreast of new technologies and strategies related to the implementation of instructional technologies and makes recommendations, as appropriate
• Liaison to ITS Help Desk
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree
• Experience working with e-portfolio systems, course management systems, technology workshop development, help documentation development, integrating technology into teaching in an educational setting, or other related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree
• Experience working in higher education
• Experience using Mahara and Moodle
• Experience with e-books (platforms, design, distribution)
• Knowledge of instructional design theory, principles, and practices
• Experience using multimedia applications (including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Flash, Flash video encoder, Camtasia, SnagIt)
• Experience assisting individuals in the planning and production of graphics, animation, audio and video materials
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to users with a variety of technical backgrounds
• Experience with web conferencing
• Experience with student response systems (e.g., clickers)
• Knowledge of copyright law, including Fair Use and the TEACH Act
• Knowledge of ADA/accessibility requirements as they relate to online instructional materials
• Knowledge of PCs and Macs
