Instructional Technology Position at Plymouth, New Hampshire
Summary
Works collaboratively with members of the department and campus faculty on the appropriate and effective integration of instructional technology into teaching and learning.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supports faculty in the effective and appropriate use of technology for teaching and learning, both online and in the classroom
- Develops and conducts Mahara e-portfolio training workshops for faculty on the use and application of instructional technologies
- Consults with faculty on available e-books resources (platforms, development, usage/implementation, etc.)
- Develops documentation and training materials in support of instructional technologies
- Consults with faculty and other department staff on the identification and implementation of appropriate technology and instructional strategies to meet student learning outcomes
- Keeps abreast of new technologies and strategies related to the implementation of instructional technologies and makes recommendations, as appropriate
- Liaison to ITS Help Desk
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Experience working with e-portfolio systems, course management systems, technology workshop development, help documentation development, integrating technology into teaching in an educational setting, or other related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Experience working in higher education
- Experience using Mahara and Moodle
- Experience with e-books (platforms, design, distribution)
- Knowledge of instructional design theory, principles, and practices
- Experience using multimedia applications (including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Flash, Flash video encoder, Camtasia, SnagIt)
- Experience assisting individuals in the planning and production of graphics, animation, audio and video materials
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to users with a variety of technical backgrounds
- Experience with web conferencing
- Experience with student response systems (e.g., clickers)
- Knowledge of copyright law, including Fair Use and the TEACH Act
- Knowledge of ADA/accessibility requirements as they relate to online instructional materials
- Knowledge of PCs and Macs
