How to Assure the Quality of e-Learning

There is so much e-Learning now being developed by so many different methods and presented in so many different ways.  It seems that in some cases there is less and less time to produce the learning and in others there is a determination to be first with the latest development or to prove that e-Learning really can be cheaper than face to face. Of course in many cases e-Learning has become the way to present ‘compliance’ training.  Perhaps it isn’t any wonder that e-Learning has gained a certain reputation for drop-out rates and boredom factors.

Many eLearning courses are like a PowerPoint; click the page and move ahead. These are linear courses that measure progress based on screens viewed, and upon completion report a pass or fail to the Learning Management System. But you don’t have to settle for this anymore!

Recently I had been trying to think of an effective way of visualising the e-learning process and the mechanics behind it, which would allow me to give a more considered approach for the courses on which I am working, and strengthen the effectiveness of the learning content. In addition this would help me improve my ability to clearly explain the reasoning behind my course material development.
