Learning Pool Reached Gold Standard In The Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme For 2019

Now in its eleventh year, the programme recognises organisations which operate at the highest levels of business performance across key management functions.

Learning Pool’s CCO Duncan Shores attributes the company’s success to its high performing team: “Our people are the driving force behind our organisation and a key reason for our sustained growth and success. This award marks an incredible year of investing for growth and innovation, delivering cutting-edge learning technology at a competitive cost, whilst providing a first-class service to our clients’.”

To achieve Gold Standard in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies awards, Learning Pool had to successfully complete a comprehensive qualification and judging process. Gold Standard is a milestone year in the programme, recognising companies who have maintained their Best Managed status for four consecutive years.

Anya Cummins, Partner, Deloitte said: “Well done to all of the winning companies on their achievement. The Best Managed Companies process is a rigorous one, examining every facet of an organisation, and the bar is set high by our judging panel. As ever, the spread of companies, right around the country and across a number of industries, underlines the importance of Irish and Northern Irish companies to the economy and in the midst of economic uncertainty, technology disruption, an open competitive market and full employment, the continued strong performance of these businesses is admirable. In the current environment, it is important for this contribution to be recognised, supported and showcased.”

A judging panel reviews a broad range of criteria under the headings of strategy, capability, commitment, and financial performance. Holistic company performance in relation to peer group is considered to determine an objective level of management success and to understand how the award entrants will continue to master their growth strategy.

Tom Hayes, Chief Executive, Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking said: “It’s a challenging time for businesses in general, with the operating environment consistently and rapidly changing, due to technological developments, new ways of doing things, and challenges on the macroeconomic horizon. The Best Managed Companies this year have demonstrated that they can optimise each area of their business while always operating with an acute awareness of their environment, recognising the opportunities of expansion into global markets, in addition to strategic alliances and partnerships. I look forward to their continued growth.”

Learning Pool received this latest accolade at a Gala Awards in the iconic Convention Centre in Dublin on 1 March. Marking a fantastic start to 2019, the company also recently retained its two star accreditation for Outstanding Employee Engagement in the Sunday Times Best Companies 2019 and won two Golds at the 2018 Learning Technologies Awards in November; Company of the Year and Learning Platform Implementation of the Year.

As well as continuing to provide leading solutions for Learning Management and both custom and catalogue-based content, Learning Pool has just launched Headstream, a new and unique Learning Experience Platform (LXP); making it incredibly easy for staff to engage with learning and get the support they need during their day to day workflow.
