Copenhagen, Denmark September 2nd, 2021 - CanopyLAB’s free learning community TeacherLAB has now surpassed 100,000 members. Reaching the first 100,000 members happens at the 1st anniversary of the release of TeacherLAB.
“The response from educators has been overwhelmingly positive. We actively connect teachers and principals from Nigeria, Peru, the Philippines, and Denmark and keep a close eye on the global conversation and collaboration around education that we facilitate,” says CanopyLAB COO Lise Andersen-Alstrup.
In August 2021, TeacherLAB was nominated for the 3rd edition of the SDG Tech Awards by Sustainiary. The award ceremony will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark in November 2021. SDG Tech Awards is the largest sustainability award in the Nordics and a tandem event to COP26. CanopyLAB won an SDG Tech Award in 2019 in the category Social Benefits, and CanopyLAB’s free learning platform, the LAB targeting youth aged 15-25, was nominated in 2020. In response to the recent nomination CanopyLAB CEO Sahra-Josephine commented: “Our commitment to SDG4 is unwavering, and we welcome the continued support of the SDG Tech Awards in our pursuit to impact the lives of 10 million learners by 2025 positively”.
What Is TeacherLAB?
Launched in August 2020 as a direct response to the COIVID-19 pandemic, TeacherLAB is a free interactive learning platform for teachers and principals. Initially, the focus was on navigating remote teaching and learning, but the scope has since been expanded. Approximately 100,000 teachers actively use TeacherLAB, and the platform currently welcomes 20,000 new teachers and principals monthly.
