Responsibilities

The Instructional Designer/Educational Technologist will serve as the primary contact and liaison for educational technology and instructional design needs through the Schools of Health Educational Programs.  This role will consult with Educators, Instructors of Record (IORs) and faculty to promote effective instructional strategies and improve learning outcomes in face-to-face, blended and online learning environments that utilize technology.

• Knowledge of adult learning theory and learning objectives

• Experience and/or skills to translate educational content into appropriate adult learning styles

• Experience working with nontechnical faculty to create novel learning mediums and content delivery, as well as translate complex concepts and content using innovative learning techniques

• Experience with course management systems and/or learning management systems, such as Canvas, Sakai, Moodle, Blackboard or Desire2Learn

• Experience with curriculum database

• Advanced computer skills, knowledge of and experience with various computer programs, such as Adobe ConnectPro, Captivate, Articulate, Adobe Photoshop, FileMaker Pro, Camtasia Studio, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Captivate, Microsoft Office components and various other graphic and web design software

• Extensive knowledge of and advanced experience in usage of Web-based applications including database driven applications, course management system, web-based exam management systems, web browser features and limitations, search engines and graphic file formats

• Experience with program evaluation software such as EValue and/or Survey Monkey

• Experience with multimedia course capture and editing programs such as Panopto or Tegrity with the skills to edit video and convert video file formatting
