Learning Management Support
Duty/Responsibility
- Provide technical and operational support for online learners, instructors and instructional designers who use the campus Learning Management System (Canvas LMS by Instructure).
- Support pedagogical best practices as they relate to the use of Canvas LMS features and functions.
- Support, troubleshoot and resolve issues with Canvas LTI integrations.
- Identify, test, integrate and support new LTI integrations that facilitate additional opportunities for learners to communicate, collaborate, engage and increase their productivity in the online environment.
- Identify, create, implement and document process-improvement plans that promote automation to increase operational efficiency of the Canvas environment and related auxiliary systems.
- Create, manage and communicate LMS standards, policies and procedures to campus stakeholders.
Instructional Technology Support
Duty/Responsibility
- Provide frontline support for a variety of educational technologies and related hardware and software components.
- Consult with instructors to understand high-level needs and specific requirements and translate those into operational plans that identify new technologies or adapt existing technologies.
- Create and communicate plans and procedures that convey use-case scenarios, detailed testing, implementation and support considerations for new and innovative education technology solutions.
- Lead periodic educational technology reviews of existing solutions to ensure they are effective, efficient and relevant to the online learning initiatives.
- Research, evaluate, negotiate, contract, and conduct pilot trials with instructional technology providers to create a portfolio of tools for use by the production team.
Faculty and Staff Support/Training
Duty/Responsibility
- Provide follow-up assistance and support to instructors as they incorporate new interactive assets into their courses.
- Provide individual, group, online training, and workshops to faculty and staff about current and emerging technologies.
- Other duties and committee work as assigned.
