Must bring an entrepreneurial style to play a critical role in building a new Education program focused on high quality adult public works education.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: 

  • Development of a comprehensive public works educational program that meets the current and future educational needs of the association member;
  • Concept to delivery educational programming  that has a national focus and is integrated with the APWA Chapters;
  • Serves as staff liaison to two association committees focused on Leadership and Management and Small Cities/Rural Communities;
  • Supports along with the association’s chapter Institutes a Certificate training program;
  • Management of a young professional training program;
  • Oversite of the continuing education units / IACET program;
  • Leading in a team environment work to create unique and cutting-edge educational programs
Qualifications

Requirements: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, Master’s degree preferred, with a minimum of five years experience working in adult education or certification programs which includes a positive progression of increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience;  a minimum of two years in a supervisory role; professional, trade association or not-for-profit employment experience preferred.  The successful candidate must have  entrepreneurial-style thinking with business-oriented results, excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detailed-oriented, have strong organizational skills and have strong computer skills using Office 2010 or higher.  Must be able to travel when needed for position with the potential of weekend travel including up to seven days for the annual conference.
