- Design live (face-to-face and virtual) instruction and self-paced eLearning courses based on expert knowledge of Instructional Design (ID) models and modern adult learning theory; translate learning objectives and technical, soft skill, and other training content into engaging Learning Experiences (LX), as directed by the LX Manager.
- Collaborate as needed with faculty and Subject Matter Experts in the effective design and development of course materials to ensure they meet ASQ’s objectives and quality standards.
- Provide regular and ad hoc support, as well as practical mentoring, to the content development team as it relates to developing their ID skills and LX thinking.
- Guide the development team towards continuously innovative content, fostering a team spirit where experience is valued and new ideas can thrive, contribute to and recommend continuous improvement efforts of the workgroup’s content (course, curricula, deliverables, or modalities) and processes to the LX Manager, implement improvements as appropriate.
- As needed, support product (or product update) launches by drafting course descriptions, identifying key aspects and/or unique sell points.
- Stay informed on innovative Instructional Design and Learning Experience trends; implement findings iteratively according to the LX Manager’s strategy.
- Balance commitment to quality with urgent and effective action, with reliable business acumen and understanding of society-wide impact.
- Adhere to ASQ competencies: Accountability, Communication, Continuous Improvement, Developing Self and Staff, Ethics, and Teamwork.
- All other duties as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Instructional Design, or related degree; five years of experience in training program and curriculum development or equivalent combination.
Must have worked through and managed adult-oriented Instructional Design processes (ADDIE or similar) for live (face-to-face and virtual) instruction and self-paced eLearning, and possess two years’ experience collaborating with internal and external SMEs.
