Face-To-Face In A Virtual World

Recreating the personal in a virtual world is now a global challenge, and in a post-lockdown environment there’s now more room for reflection - to pause and think about what good could and does look like.

While the COVID crisis has brought many new remote learning possibilities to the forefront, true human connection has taken a backseat. Learners often feel emotionally distanced from peers and miss the comradery as they move into the New Normal. Fortunately, you can personalize the process and bring your teams together without the risk. But how do you overcome the negative preconceptions that some employees have about virtual training? Is there a way to ease the transition and provide more learner-centered experiences?

Join us to discover how you can transform your on-site training to meaningful and memorable virtual training sessions that break the L&D mold.

In this session, we'll discuss:

  • Going beyond conversions
  • Reflections on post-lockdown training
  • Recreating the personal in a virtual environment
  • Unpicking the tensions between expectations and reality
  • Quick wins and key takeaways

Stefan is a Senior Learning Designer – He talks to clients about what they need and help them refine their ideas. Depending on the project, he draws up what he thinks is the best learning solution for his client and develops the script. Before joining Learning Pool, he used to be a face-to-face trainer for a utility company. In Stefan’s time here, he has worked on projects for EDF Energy, Sainsbury’s, OSTC and of course our very own catalogue of off-the-shelf learning! Jack has been developing online learning for over a decade. In that time, he has created and advised on learning for organisations as diverse as Barclays, The Ministry of Defence, Vodafone, DHL, Ofcom, RBS and E.ON. Having also led learning initiatives for The FA and Boots as an internal L&D professional, Jack always focuses on the wider context of learning experiences. Considering organisation culture, motivational factors, delivery platforms and success measures, he works to ensure that what looks good on paper makes a positive difference in reality. Jack is a fair-weather cyclist and all-weather Arsenal fan. If he’s not sulking over the weekend’s result or pedalling off into the sunset, you’ll likely find him with a good book.
