Supporting Learning In The Flow Of Work

Training needs to be first and foremost about helping employees solve their day-to-day issues, and then everything else. Many training methodologies do not work well as learners forget what they are taught within a few days or a week of the training. Also, whenever the employees are stuck on some issues, they depend on peers or other sources to solve their issues. Given this, we must have learning programs that help learners at the moment of need or in the flow of work. The training needs to help learners do their job better and grow. We need to not just train employees but create an environment that contributes to learning and improved productivity. Today, corporate training should be “out of the training room and into the flow of work.”

In this session, we will discuss:

  • What is learning in the flow of work
  • Steps organizations can take to adopt learning in the flow of work
  • Strategies to support learning in the flow of work
  • Some insightful examples
We need to not just train employees but create an environment that contributes to learning and improved productivity.
