Magic Coast Announced The Final Roll-Out

Magic Coast today announced the final roll-out of it's latest hardware and software system for e-Learning and corporate communications.

“Although it's an incremental version update, version 5.3 represents a significant upgrade to our system.” Said William Dunning, CEO, Magic Coast. “It has something for everyone – major hardware upgrades, new e-Learning features, improvements to the user experience for both the administrator and viewer, new real-time metrics options, and more.”

A highlight of the upgrade is the live viewer attendance report and other enhanced metrics. The new attendance report shows who is viewing, when they joined, when/if they left or returned. It gives the administrator a real-time view for accurate and well documented attendance reports.

Another major improvement is the 'White-boxing' of the viewer experience. Administrators are now able to manage the look and feel of the e-Learning interface to completely match their organizations branding and image. Standard CSS and custom graphic uploads are used to accomplish the fully custom look.

Other software enhancements include:

  • Use pre-recorded or live capture video inputs
  • New graph showing how many live viewers are on line at any time
  • New detailed polling reports, tracking answers by participant

Important hardware enhancements are also part of this upgrade. “We've expanded our hardware offering with two new encoders.” Dunning said. “This has allowed us to include such features as multi-channel SDI inputs, cloud storage and more”

Leading the hardware improvements is the Panther Encoder – Plus Edition. The Plus Edition includes a 1 Tera-byte local cloud storage (located on the hardware) for recording your stream. Users are able to record a live or pre-recorded event in original quality or stream quality, allowing archive of high quality video regardless of the final encoding quality.

Another important enhancement found on the Plus Edition is its 4 Channel SDI capture card. In addition, all Panther encoders are now able to encode up to 4 independent streams, creating a highly adaptable and flexible 4x4 system.

Other hardware enhancements include:

  • Auto-detect video input format for live capture on SDI or HDMI
  • Internal HLS server
  • Elite Edition includes a Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio TM HD video switcher
  • Kaltura TM and Ustream TM RTMP certified
  • NBC/Comcast Wholesale TM certified
  • Compatible with CDN's such as YouTube Live TM, Facebook TM and others.

Looking ahead to 2017, look for our new multi-channel conferencing application – providing a competitive solution for organizations who need highly resilient video conferencing without the exceedingly high cost of a full tele-presence system. Magic Coast is a leader in mission critical corporate communications systems.
