Will You Answer The Call? mLearn 2018 Issues A Call For Papers
Are doing research in a mobilized learning field? Do you have a case study of pedagogical or technological innovation for mobilized teaching and learning to share? The organizing committee for the 17th World Conference on Mobile and Contextual Learning (mLearn 2018) hopes you’ll rise to the challenge, and answer the call for papers and presentations!
The Setting
mLearn 2018 will take place from 11-14 November 2018 in Chicago, IL. The event is being hosted by the International Association for Mobile Learning and Concordia University Chicago.
mLearn is the leading international conference on mobile and contextual learning, and attracts participants annually from more than 60 countries. mLearn 2018 provides a forum for researchers, policy makers, professionals and educators from higher education, school education and vocational education, government departments, industries and international organizations, as well as IT developers and solutions providers to share knowledge, research and practices, and debate critical issues pertaining to sustainable futures for mobilized learning.
The Purpose
The objectives of the conference have been defined as follows:
- To stimulate critical debate on and research into theories, approaches, principles and applications of mLearning.
- To share local and international practice, developments, experiences and lessons learned.
To promote networking and business opportunity development. - To showcase and encourage innovations in technology, products and services, as well as teaching and learning.
- To facilitate dialogue, sharing and networking between diverse cultures with regard to the optimum use of emerging technologies.
The Call
The overarching theme for mLearn 2018 is Mobilized Learning: Pedagogical and Technological Innovations for Teaching and Learning. Submissions are now being accepted for:
- Conference Papers (long, short, and Doctoral Consortium)
- Workshops and Tutorial Sessions
- Poster and Table Presentations
- Technology and Product/Service Demonstrations
Conference delegates will be interested in learning about your work in areas including (but not limited to):
- Gamification, serious games, and game-based learning
- Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, mixed reality, and wearable technologies for teaching and learning
- Mobile apps in teaching and learning
- Innovative approaches to mobilized teaching and learning with current and emerging technologies
- Mobilized learning in and across formal and informal settings, including open and distance education
- Data management, security, and analysis for mobilized teaching and learning
- Assessment for mobilized teaching and learning
- Machine learning and mobilized learning
- Mindfulness for mobilized learning
- Neuroscience and mobilized learning
- Social empowerment through mobilized learning

Step 4: Publish Your Paper
- Accepted papers and presentations will be presented at mLearn 2018.
- Accepted papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings in an Open Access format, and distributed by LearnTechLib to over 100,000 subscribers!
- Some accepted papers may be invited to resubmit extended versions for publication in a special edition of the International Journal of Mobile and Blended Learning (IJMBL).
