Onshape Delivers Learning Using Thought Industries

BOSTON, MA, June 6, 2017 – Thought Industries, one of the fastest growing online learning Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) companies and creator of the world’s first Learning Business Platform™ today officially announced its partnership with Onshape, the leading professional 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) platform for Agile Product Design. Onshape recently launched their self-guided online Learning Center on the Thought Industries’ platform to deliver learning to experienced engineers and designers to accelerate their transition from traditional desktop-installed CAD to full-cloud CAD.

Onshape’s new online learning offerings, or “Learning Pathways,” are broken down into short introductory courses with practice exercises that CAD professionals can complete at their own pace, with the ability to revisit learning materials later across any device. The Learning Center was created as an alternative onboarding option to Onshape’s popular live Interactive Overview Training, which is comprised of four daily two-hour online sessions with an expert Onshape instructor.

“We did a lot of research before selecting Thought Industries as we wanted a platform that looked professional, had vast integration capabilities, and one that allowed our customers to use their Onshape credentials to access learning content,” said Noa Flaherty, Customer Success Manager at Onshape, “We wanted to provide customers with a seamless experience, while also being able to do extensive reporting on the backend, and we got that and much more with Thought Industries.”

To incentivize learners, CAD professionals will receive a completion certificate after finishing each Learning Pathway, “Onshape Fundamentals: CAD” and “Onshape Fundamentals: Data Management.” These are the first two course bundles CAD professionals can complete via Onshape’s Learning Center, but the organization will continue to add self-guided courses to address advanced topics such as “in-context editing” and “simultaneous sheet metal tools.”

“It’s been a great experience working with the Onshape team and seeing them leverage the platform to create online customer engagement programs,” said Doug Murphy, President of Thought Industries, “Cutting-edge software and technology companies like Onshape are raising the bar with new and innovative ways to connect with customers through online learning, and we’re excited to help them execute on their vision.”
