5 Ways To Reach Gen Z In Workplace Training

Gen Z (those born between 1997 and 2013) are digital natives. They have only known a life with immediate access to technology and thus the ability to access a vast amount of information on demand. If they have a question, they can find answers in seconds or less. While half of Gen Z are still full-time students living at home with their parents, half are adults who are either in college or seeking or already employed in the workforce, and approximately three-quarters are of working age. In fact, the oldest Gen Zers are in their mid-twenties. They make up the youngest workers and are in fact quite different from their preceding generation(s).

This webinar will consider who Gen Zers are, how their characteristics affect their learning—which was greatly impacted by the pandemic— and how Gen Z is different from previous generations.

We'll discuss 5 key strategies for reaching Gen Z in workplace training:

  1. Make it mobile
  2. Make it blended
  3. Make it active
  4. Make it edutaining (educational and entertaining)
  5. Make it social

Attendees will learn some key characteristics of Gen Z, including who they are, how they interact with the world, and what a Gen Z-dominated workplace might look like in the future. We'll analyze workplace training in relation to these characteristics based on a case study of a Day 1 Readiness program for a large entertainment company based in the US, including how we used a needs analysis and semi-structured interviews to talk directly to our target audience, then explain how we used this information to identify and apply key learning strategies for our Gen Z target audience, including focusing on the model of social media platforms for providing edutaining content, which is both educational and entertaining. We'll conclude with a discussion on how to apply these strategies in other authentic situations while encouraging attendees to participate by providing their own examples and asking related questions.

The interactive webinar conducted by Cinecraft Productions will focus on:

  • Explaining the learning characteristics of Gen Z learners
  • Analyzing workplace training in relation to Gen Z learning characteristics
  • Identifying learning strategies for Gen Z workplace training
  • Applying learning strategies for Gen Z workplace training
