How To Choose An eLearning Authoring Tool: Essential Checklist

Let’s face it: we all need a little help sometimes. Whether you’re a manager, an Instructional Designer, a developer, a programmer, or some combination—no matter what your role is, sooner or later you need to choose an authoring tool to develop eLearning content. But how to decide? In this webinar, we’ll discuss various criteria and decision points to help you figure out which authoring tool is the best fit for you. At the end of the session, attendees will be provided with their own essential checklist to help them choose.

After this webinar, you should have a better understanding of:

  • Your eLearning project goals and objectives
  • Level of interactivity you need in your eLearning content
  • Categories of eLearning authoring tools available
  • Using media in your eLearning project
  • Ways of engaging your learners
  • Making your course accessible
  • Key points when test driving a new authoring tool
This is not an easy choice and there is no right or wrong. In this particular talk, I want to have a large consideration of all of the categories and all of the elements that may be needed when you begin looking for a new tool for content development. There are a lot of tools that work for a broad category, but there is no tool that works for everyone. The important thing to keep in mind is that the tool should not only be easy to use, but also enable you to produce effective content.

  • Operating system: Windows 10, 8.1 (32-bit/64-bit), Windows 7 (32-bit/64-bit) or Mac OS X 10.9, 10.10, 10.11, and 10.12
  • Web browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 or later, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Google Chrome
