Hunting for design resources for web and eLearning development is a constant quest. This is a list of icon resources for eLearning designers, both free and paid, that can help in the quest.
1. Icons8
While not especially for eLearning, Icons8 has a number of flat icons that are suitable for being used in course design.There are 312 free icons in all, and the best part is that no credit is required for reuse, whether in commercial or personal projects.

2. Flat Icon
Published by Freepik, this is a collection of 100 free eLearning icons. They are available in Lineal, Lineal Color, and Flat style. In terms of format, the icons can be downloaded in SVG, EPS, PNG and PSD format. Flat Icon also offers the option of customizing the color of the icon before downloading it.

3. IconFinder
IconFinder allows users to see icons based on style. There is a mix of paid and free resources. There is also a variety between colorful icons and more simpler single tone icons.

4. Creative Tail
eLearning icons are included in a pack of 300 flat icons. While not offering the most extensive choice of icons, there are still some quality options. The downside of Creative Tail is a paid package. File formats options include EPS, PSD, PNG, SVG, and Ai.

5. The Noun Project
The Noun Project has a wide array of options for e Learning icons. This is a very extensive collection and can be downloaded either in PNG or SVG format. The option to customize the color of the icon is also available in case of a premium upgrade.

Dryicons offers a learning pack that, while limited, has a distinctive looking set of icons. The icons have a clean and minimal style. There is an option to buy the icons with a regular or extended license. The standard free license requires attribution to the author.

Dreamstale consists of 60 free vector icons available in two color schemes - dark grey and multicolor. The icons are downloadable in three formats - EPS, Ai and PNG (which is further available in 48px, 64px, and 128px resolution). There are many eLearning icons that can be discovered in Freepik’s searchable lists. However, there are also two clear education and learning focused icon packs that are free for download. 9. Best PSD Freebies
The icon pack at Best PSD Freebies has a distinctive hand drawn theme. There are 28 hand drawn icons in the pack. There is the option to purchase the extended pack of 267 icons, designed by Agata Kuczminska, at Creative Market. Another pack of 8 icons, having a flat paper design theme is available on Best PSD Freebies. This is the link for that pack.

10. Designbeep
Designbeep contains 150 icons in PNG and SVG format. The icon pack requires no attribution. It is free for use in personal and commercial projects.

Vecteezy finds design from various sources on the internet. The icons in this list are a mix of free and premium resources. They also have a variety of styles, ranging from flat to simple outline.

12. E-Learning Heroes
E-Learning Heroes has icons for almost all needs. There are icon packs for flat icons, sketch style, speech bubbles, line icons, PowerPoint-themed icons and more. An account has to be created with the site to access these resources.

This is a free pack of 20 eLearning icons. Users needs to sign up to the SH!FT eLearning blog to access this resource. The icons are free for use in personal and commercial projects. The color can be modified and there are no license hassles.
