What do you like best?
Gusto shines as one of the most intuitive and user-friendly time tracking platforms available. Logging hours is straightforward, requesting time off is effortless, and payroll-related information is easy to find and understand. For employees, it removes the usual friction involved in tracking and managing time. The end-user experience is seamless, making day-to-day use a breeze.
What do you dislike?
The only improvement noted is with the mobile app’s time entry interface—specifically, the current scroll-based time input could be enhanced by allowing keyboard entry for faster manual edits. It’s a minor issue that doesn’t take away from the overall experience. It’s a consistently excellent tool that makes time tracking and payroll management effortless.

What do you like best?
Gusto offers a user-friendly interface that makes running payroll straightforward, even when adjustments are needed after submission. The platform provides quick customer support and the flexibility to navigate or modify pay runs without hassle. It's a strong fit for small businesses looking for a simple, functional payroll solution. It's also excellent for onboarding! If you value ease of use and responsive support over deep customization. Go for it.
What do you dislike?
While functional, Gusto’s reporting features can be unintuitive. Key quarterly reports aren’t readily available in the “Tax Packages” section and require extra digging to locate. Additionally, the system lacks support for splitting gross pay across multiple local jurisdictions on a single paycheck, which could be a drawback for companies with more complex payroll needs.

The platform has significantly reduced manual errors and saved time, freeing up resources to focus on growth.
What do you dislike?
As your team scales, so does the cost. Gusto operates on a base + per-employee pricing model, which may feel increasingly expensive as headcount rises or as you explore premium HR features like benefits administration. While the tool remains effective, cost-conscious businesses may eventually need to reevaluate for long-term sustainability. While pricing could become a factor over time, the efficiency and time saved often justify the investment.

Having used it across multiple organizations, the onboarding and account transfer process is smooth, which is a major plus when switching jobs. It’s clearly becoming a go-to platform for companies of all sizes.
What do you dislike?
One area that needs improvement is account management functionality, particularly the ability to update login or contact information. For instance, changing the email associated with the login proved difficult after a name change due to marriage. This can be frustrating when trying to maintain a current and secure profile.

Overall, Gusto’s customer support has been helpful and responsive.
What do you dislike?

What do you like best?
Gusto provides an all-in-one solution for payroll, benefits, onboarding, and tax filings. As a first-time business owner, I appreciated how it automated complex tasks like 1099 filings, payroll memos, and IRS communication. The onboarding and HR paperwork features were also a major time-saver. The user interface is clean, modern, and very easy to navigate.
What do you dislike?
The pricing structure can be a bit steep for early-stage startups or small businesses trying to keep costs down. Additionally, the sales communication could be more transparent about which features are included in each pricing tier, especially for companies evaluating multiple platforms.
