Millennials And Faith: Can eLearning Draw Millennials Back to Faith?

The Millennial Generation is, without question, the most over-informed, under-engaged generation in history. They can access more information on their smartphones with their little finger than previous generations had access to in their entire lifetime. At the same time, they have weaker relationships with their families and communities than ever before. Planning Digital Learning For K12 Classroom

Ravi is a grade VII student. Recently, his school got interactive whiteboards installed in the classroom. He was very excited about the Science class last Monday, which was the first class to use the smart-board. The teacher started the class by showing a series of pictures, which were a slightly better version of what were in the chapter. Then she showed a video of a teacher who was explaining what was written in the book. Class was over and Ravi was very disappointed. He was not sure what he was expecting, but he definitely expected something more. The problem stated above is common. Technology is used without much thought about the delivery style or method.

Online Learning And Teaching: Teachers Are Critical To Students' Success

As another MOOC comes to a close, I have been thinking about the impact of technology on teaching and learning. Back in the early days of my online learning journey, teachers were afraid that moving education efforts online would eliminate the need for teachers. Some professors were hesitant to "teach online" because they felt they were teaching themselves out of a job, somehow proving that they were nothing more than grading machines and forum monitors. Some online instructors actually did nothing more than that and kept their jobs, which only made other teachers more fearful of the trend to move classes online.
