TRWA is seeking an Instructional Designer to develop online self-directed education for retail water and wastewater operations system staff. The position is responsible for creating technology-based training and content for online courses and converting existing TRWA water and wastewater manuals used in teaching live classroom courses into self-paced online formatted courses. 

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional technologies, educational technologies or engineering, public health, public administration, liberal arts, communications.
• Proficiency with Articulate software.
• Working knowledge of eLearning development tools and Learning Management Systems
• A proven track record in technical writing and development of eLearning
• Applies adult learning principles and appropriate Instructional Design techniques to achieve desired outcomes
• Develops intended learning outcomes and objectives for educational activities and links them to knowledge, competence
• Works collaboratively with SMEs

As a remote Instructional Designer, your responsibilities involve developing instructional manuals, training courses, and eLearning environments. You gather data on a specific subject and our instructional manuals and organize the information into a curriculum, taking into account the scope of the materials, the learning process, the age of the target students, and new technological advances for interactive learning.

The Texas Rural Water Association is a statewide educational and trade association that represents the full spectrum of the rural drinking water and wastewater community. We are dedicated to helping water and wastewater systems provide efficient service and clean, safe drinking water to their customers.

In addition to the onsite technical assistance provided to water and wastewater facillities, TRWA also provides formal classroom or online licensing training to water and wastewater operators throughout Texas.
