Responsibilities

The Instructional Designer will:

  • work with the faculty to design, develop, and deliver effective online, blended, and face-to-face courses, ensuring adherence to targeted outcomes and best practices in design and student learning.
  • deliver training and provide support to faculty, staff and students on features of the Learning Management System and other educational technologies.
  • evaluate technology and teaching methods to assess their utility for the school’s learning initiatives.
Qualifications

Experience working closely with the faculty to design in multiple formats including face-to-face, hybrid and online; demonstrated expertise with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas etc.), and knowledge of media tools (e.g. Panopto, Zoom, etc.); Instructional Design, and academic/educational technology; understanding of accessibility requirements and ADA compliance; must have excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving and interpersonal skills; and demonstrated creativity skill and experience in designing instruction that engages students in an active learning experience. The preferred candidate will be professionally connected to the Instructional Design community and willing to actively promote the university by attending or presenting at conferences. Strongly prefer experience in higher education.
