Gamification Of Compliance Training Through A Serious Game Concept

As a Learning Strategist, I have been involved in the creation of several compliance training courses in the last 12 years. In all these years, we have built compliance training courses for some of the leading global organizations in Financial services, Insurance, Healthcare and several others in varied manufacturing sectors. Almost always, the brief from the Compliance team is to lay the content "as is”, have forced navigation and get it done quickly with hardly any room for creative strategies. I always felt that the mandate was focused on meeting the “certificate of completion” rather than ensuring a “sticky learning”. However, now I do have a case study of a Compliance team that gave us the mandate to create an immersive learning experience using Gamification.

How Gamification Can Help Overcome Remote Employment Issues

The Washington Post recently reported that employees at the US Patent and Trademark Office took advantage of the organization’s award winning program telecommuting program. Experts agree that remote work brings on distinct organizational challenges: communication, trust, and corporate culture and knowledge issues.

A Culture of Empowerment: Beat the 70:20:10 Problem and Secure ROI

You’ll have heard about the 70:20:10 problem by now. It’s a theory about the way in which we learn: only 10% of our knowledge comes from formal training, while 20% comes from observing others and a whopping 70% occurs when we roll up our sleeves at work and get stuck in. Up until now, organizations have failed to secure ROI on their training spend as they have been focusing on formal training and haven’t been cultivating a culture of empowerment to tackle the remaining 90%…
