April 2014 saw the 10th anniversary of the implementation of Regulation 4 “Duty to manage asbestos in non domestic premises” which was previously Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002. Since then and through various changes the Regulations have become The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, but within that Regulation 4 has remained unchanged. The intervening decade has also seen numerous asbestos surveys (they changed too) and other exercises carried out to identify to what extent properties contained asbestos and if so how it should be managed.
