ETLO is based in Education Development Center’s (EDC’s) Learning and Teaching Division in Waltham, Massachusetts. EDC is a leading non-profit 5013(c) research and development educational organization founded in 1958 and is a recognized leader in curriculum development, professional development, and educational technology.
ETLO was the 2010 recipient of iNACOL’s Online Innovator award for Outstanding Online Program and was also featured in the 2013 Christensen Institute case study: EdTech Leaders Online: A case study of scalable online professional development programs. Most recently, in April 2015, the American Alliance of Museums recognized EDC/ETLO’s work with the Arkansas-based Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art with a Gold MUSE Award for outstanding achievement. The award was presented for Museum Mash Up: American Identity through the Arts, a multimedia online course developed by Crystal Bridges and EDC.
