What do you like best? BambooHR has been instrumental in bringing structure and stability to our organization, especially as a small, charitable nonprofit without the internal resources to build a human resource information system (HRIS) from scratch. Its quick implementation allowed us to get up and running with a professional, centralized platform. The platform's scalability and breadth of features made it the best long-term fit for our organization.
What do you dislike? The primary challenge lies in the cost of add-ons and advanced customization. While the per-user pricing model is helpful for smaller teams, unlocking more advanced features or integrations often comes at an additional cost. This makes it harder for smaller nonprofits to access the full value of the platform unless they can reach higher user thresholds for discounts.

It’s intuitive enough for non-technical users, yet powerful enough to manage the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment through daily HR management. The app integration and automated reminders help streamline workflows. Whether you’re onboarding, tracking performance, or maintaining HR records, the platform is structured to support it all in a clean and organized way.
What do you dislike? The only notable shortcoming is the lack of CV parsing in the recruitment module, which would make candidate filtering faster and more accurate. While this is a relatively small gap, adding it could greatly enhance the already strong hiring functionality. Overall, BambooHR is an exceptional platform well-suited for HR leaders looking to scale with structure, without sacrificing usability or support. Highly recommended for teams that value both functionality and simplicity.

What do you like best? BambooHR provides a simple and affordable HRIS solution for small to mid-sized businesses. The implementation process was streamlined for us, requiring only a handful of one-hour sessions. Much easier compared to other platforms with 12-week rollouts. It’s user-friendly and intuitive, especially for our blue-collar workforce, who found it easy to adopt.
What do you dislike? While it markets itself as customizable, many features are more rigid than expected. Several functions we assumed would be available simply weren’t. Customer support has frequently told us, “the system can’t do that.” However, it’s a good-value option for small businesses that want to streamline core HR functions without the hefty price tag.

What do you like best? As a People and Culture Coordinator and Office Manager, I find BambooHR to be both intuitive and efficient, especially when it comes to reporting and onboarding. The custom reporting capabilities are a standout feature. I can easily tailor reports by selecting specific fields and time spans, which saves time and delivers exactly the insights I need. The onboarding packet functionality is another major plus.
What do you dislike? The onboarding task assignment could use some refinement. Currently, tasks can only be assigned to one individual at a time. This becomes a hassle when needing to loop in an entire team, such as IT for account setups and equipment requests. Since BambooHR already uses grouped access levels, it would be great to extend that functionality to task assignments for improved efficiency.

What do you like best? As an HR Director stepping into a new role, I inherited BambooHR and was immediately impressed by how intuitive and easy to navigate the platform is. It’s now become my go-to “HR brain”! The clean interface and quick access to data help me stay organized and efficient, and the mobile app has been a big hit with our employees. Ideal for organizations seeking a scalable, employee-friendly HR system with top-tier support.
What do you dislike? There’s room to improve the data input experience for more specialized setups, but these are relatively minor concerns in an otherwise solid system. Other than that, they are great! Exceptional customer support. Every time I’ve reached out, their team has been friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help. It makes a huge difference when you know support is not only accessible but consistently excellent.

What do you like best? BambooHR offers an impressive suite of out-of-the-box features that make it a strong fit for small businesses, especially those looking to streamline HR functions without blowing the budget. The user interface is intuitive, and core features like PTO tracking, personnel data management, and company announcements are easy to adopt. Over time, we expanded our use of the platform to include onboarding, offboarding, and recruiting, which replaced our formerly manual processes.
What do you dislike? Where BambooHR falls short is in onboarding and support. While the platform is relatively customizable, it requires a significant time investment to configure it properly, and without a dedicated account manager, that burden is placed on your team. Most of the setup guidance comes via their help center or wait times on customer service calls. We were also surprised by a price increase just months after signing up, which felt sudden for a new customer.

What do you like best? BambooHR is extremely user-friendly, even for employees who typically struggle with technology. Both the web and mobile apps are intuitive, making it easy for staff to adopt without heavy training. The system is also regularly updated with new features that enhance its functionality over time. Compared to our previous provider, BambooHR delivered a smoother experience with more flexibility across HR functions.
What do you dislike? The one current limitation is in the custom reporting capabilities, specifically around payroll data. While BambooHR has expanded its custom reporting features, payroll metrics aren’t fully integrated yet. That said, the platform’s pace of development suggests this will likely be addressed in the near future. We switched from ADP Workforce Now for better cost-efficiency and functional improvements.

What do you like best? BambooHR is a visually appealing and intuitive HR platform. I find it especially useful for smaller companies with a straightforward payroll setup. It’s budget-friendly and offers helpful features like PTO syncing with Google Calendar, which some larger competitors like ADP don’t currently support. Updating payroll and tax information is relatively easy, making it a solid option for businesses that want a self-service model with a user-friendly interface.
What do you dislike? The trade-off with BambooHR’s affordability is that support can be slow and limited. The live chat often escalates issues instead of resolving them on the spot. Additionally, payroll handling requires caution. Mistakes like entering the wrong final paycheck date during a termination could cause an employee to disappear from the payroll, creating extra work to correct it. These types of limitations pushed us to seek a more robust HR platform better suited for compliance-heavy payroll.

What do you like best? When I joined the company, our employee and contractor records were all stored in paper form, making it incredibly difficult to maintain consistency across multiple locations. Implementing BambooHR completely transformed that. It gave us the ability to digitize and centralize all HR documentation, ensuring that every team member has access to the correct files in a timely and uniform way. It brought much-needed structure and transparency to our department!
What do you dislike? Bamboo HR has positively impacted the company overall. While all the features we use are beneficial, I do wish there was a simpler, quicker way to pull reports. Currently, it requires creating a new report each time, even when I just need to access some data on the fly. A quick-view or saved filters option would make a big difference for day-to-day use.

Exceptional ease of implementation, with excellent documentation that made setup quick and seamless, even without a dedicated HR team in place. The platform is highly intuitive and user-friendly, which made onboarding internal teams effortless. Another standout was its strong integration ecosystem.
What do you dislike? As our company scaled rapidly, BambooHR’s limitations became more apparent. The platform lacked some advanced features we required, such as robust password management, a more powerful ATS, and additional admin-level customizations. These gaps led us to switch to Rippling, which better supports vertical consolidation across core business systems.
