Designing Digitally Wins Two Silver And One Gold In The 2017 Horizon Interactive Awards

Designing Digitally, Inc., a custom training development company, earned two Silver and one Gold award in the 2017 Horizon Interactive Awards. The Horizon Interactive Awards is an annual competition which recognizes outstanding achievements in interactive media developments around the world. Designing Digitally, Inc. is honored to receive three esteemed awards in this year’s competition.

The Winning Projects

One of the Silver awards is for a Golf Club Fitting simulation they created for PING. The training simulation teaches employees at sporting equipment retailers how to help customers find the PING golf clubs best suited for their needs. It asks employees to select club attributes, such as model, length, and grip, based on the customer’s measurements and preferences. Then, the customer tries out the club. The simulation shows a realistic ball flight based on the attributes the employee selected. They can make adjustments to the club, then see how the changes impact the ball’s flight. The learning experience teaches them how to follow the fitting process and also proves the importance of correctly using it with each and every customer.

The second Silver award is for an onboarding project Designing Digitally, Inc. created with a long-standing partner, the Wyndham Hotel Group. Owners and General Managers of Wyndham Properties can navigate freely through the information in the course to find exactly what they need. Designing Digitally, Inc. added a whimsical touch to the training by basing it around growing a fictional hotel. As users complete achievements, they unlock enhancements to their hotel such as new flooring in the lobby or lounge chairs by the pool. In addition, their hotel grows as the town in which it resides increases in energy from excited tourists. The theme helps Owners and General Managers take pride in their new roles and see the opportunities that can come from running a Wyndham property.

Designing Digitally, Inc. received a Gold award for a training simulation that takes Procter & Gamble quality assessors through a 3D production plant to determine the overall health and efficiency of the facility. They choose which rooms to visit in each wing of the building to gather as much information as possible. Assessors observe their surroundings and take pictures of anything out of place. Plus, they speak with plant employees, analyze documentation, and choose the best course of action in investigative scenarios. This realistic experience allows trainees to conduct a full-scale quality assessment in a virtual environment before surveying an actual P&G facility.

Andrew Hughes, President of Designing Digitally, Inc. said, “We’ve been able to work with some incredible clients this year.
