We’ve spent some time earlier this month looking at corporate compliance training: the factors that should go into your budget, what you should look for when partnering with a training vendor, and, most importantly, why going through all this trouble for compliance is so important. This week, we want to talk about our own experience with compliance training, and the process and strategy we use to help our clients meet compliance and regulatory standards with the right approach at the right scale.

Before we go into our process let’s talk about why scale [1] is so important to corporate compliance training. The balance between available budget and imperative standards and regulation can be tricky to get right, especially in industries that could potentially face major financial consequences for non-compliance with government mandates. Finding that balance – and even developing the budget for the corporate compliance training in the first place – requires an understanding of the scale the project needs to cover all its bases.

What’s more, it’s important to account for future growth. Regulation changes [2] all the time, due to the state of the market, the political climate, and countless other factors. Step One – Determining Need

Compliance standards cannot be met if they have not been properly defined. Some of these cases are easier than others. However, even in these cases, it’s important to properly analyze who needs to be learning and applying what information, and, most importantly, how to teach them.

With the appropriate parameters identified and a design defined, we can actually begin putting the solution together. Using the needs that we’ve worked together to highlight with our client, we use our project development process structure to transform the content we have gathered or been given for a design that accelerates user performance. In the case of corporate compliance training, we give special focus to any regulatory standards that must be met, and enable learners to understand them and act accordingly.
