Strong candidate management tool for small businesses seeking cost‑effective ATS

Sep 13, 2025

Overall Rating 87%

  • Usability

What do you like best? As a smaller business, we appreciate that ApplicantStack's prices start at a manageable level while still offering many features found in higher-end systems. This provided us with a central hub for job posting, tracking applicants, collaborating with hiring managers, and eventually onboarding new employees. There are several locations and managers involved, and the system handles that complexity much better than our previous spreadsheet/email-based process.
What do you dislike? Since our use case is relatively simple, we encountered a few limitations. Specifically, some customization options, particularly those related to the look and feel of the careers page, were less flexible than we had hoped. The support is okay, but there are times when the response is not as quick as we would like it to be, especially when we have urgent questions about integrations or custom fields.

Flexible and reliable ATS system that excels in posting and screening, yet needs deeper flexibility

May 5, 2025

Overall Rating 89%
  • Usefulness
  • Usability
  • Customer Experience
  • Likelihood to Recommend
What do you like best? Based on our experience, ApplicantStack excels in posting jobs quickly to job boards, consolidating applications, and facilitating the screening workflow and time to shortlist candidates. Customisable email templates, scoring questions, and providing SMS to candidates have made our hiring team look and sound professional as well as responsive. Support has always been good, and the system has been stable. Numerous users give it high marks for basic ATS functionality.
What do you dislike? Where the system falls short for us is in deeper customisation and visual appeal. For example, we would like to have more control over the branding of our career site and job pages, as well as more advanced analytics built in (rather than exporting data to Excel), and a more polished user interface. Additionally, it includes the onboarding process, but it needs to be integrated with learning-management or HRIS modules.

A user-friendly recruitment platform that improved candidate experience and workflow

Mar 11, 2025

What do you like best? Our recruiting team has been utilizing ApplicantStack to manage applications, screening questions, and interview scheduling in one centralized platform. The workflows we programmed in the tool have made communications clear and quick, and candidates have trusted this; they have not hesitated to provide feedback. The tool helped us both post on top boards and create our own careers page on the platform, which improved the visibility of our openings.
What do you dislike? We identified an opportunity to enhance bulk actions when managing larger applicant pools. This could be achieved by rejecting numerous applicants simultaneously or sending them letters of rejection in a single bulk process, etc. On the other hand, the reporting interface, although adequately functional, was challenging for non-technical users to use without some initial assistance, as it required some team members to help drill down into the data without help.

Making Hiring Processes Easier Every Step Of The Way Despite Outdated Interface

Sep 27, 2024

What do you like best? I like how ApplicantStack keeps the hiring routine simple and clear. Everything sits in one place, so posting roles, checking applications, and moving people through each step feels smooth and easy. The layout is clean, and I never feel lost while working through tasks.
What do you dislike? The only thing that holds ApplicantStack back for me is the look and feel of the system. It works well and stays steady, but the style feels older than many newer hiring tools. The layout is simple, which helps, but it could use a fresh appearance.

A Really Steady Tool For Tracking All Candidates Despite Occasional Email Issues

What do you like best? I enjoy how ApplicantStack makes following applicants simple and steady. I can see where each person sits in the process, move them forward, and check past notes quickly. This keeps me from feeling lost in the middle of a hiring cycle.
What do you dislike? Email issues are the one thing that interrupts my progress. At times, messages do not send, or they appear in odd ways, because the settings feel unclear. I need to double-check details more often than I prefer, which takes extra time during heavy hiring weeks.

A Smooth Hiring Helper For Remote Teams But Video Links Fail On Rare Occasions

Jun 28, 2024

What do you like best? ApplicantStack has made remote hiring feel simple for us by keeping every step in one place. I can move from screening to online meetings without switching tools, which saves time and helps me stay steady during busy days. Having notes, recordings, and updates stored together keeps the process clear and makes it easier to review details later.
What do you dislike? The only issue I run into is the video meeting links that fail to load on rare days. It slows me down and forces me to reset the session, which can interrupt the flow of an interview. I also feel the loading time could be steadier during long calls since it sometimes takes a moment for screens to appear.

Great Features For Efficiency Yet Small Hiccups With Forms And Menus Slow Me Down

May 1, 2024

Overall Rating 83%
  • Usefulness
  • Usability
  • Customer Experience
  • Likelihood to Recommend
What do you like best? ApplicantStack offers features that help me stay efficient during recruiting. I like how quickly I can reach what I need and how easy it is to review details without losing track of earlier steps. It keeps the process organised and gives me steady access to files, notes, and updates. Support is helpful, and the features allow me to keep everything moving at a good pace, even during busy hiring stretches with many applicants in line.
What do you dislike? The forms can slow my work at times. Some menus close too quickly, and I have to reopen them, which breaks my rhythm while sorting through details. Attachments also require downloads instead of quick views, which adds small steps that build up over long days. These issues are not major, yet they create enough extra effort that I notice them.

Helps Me Stay Organized Through Busy Hiring Weeks Though Reports Are Hard To Build

Mar 29, 2024

What do you like best? ApplicantStack has made it easier for me to stay organised during heavy recruiting periods. I like how clear the layout feels and how simple it is to move between tasks without losing my place. Tracking applicants is steady and helps me follow each step without confusion.
What do you dislike? Sometimes, it can be hard to build reports. I end up spending more time searching for the right section than actually working on the information. Some parts take extra clicking, and it can break my flow during longer sessions.

Efficient hiring platform with automation strengths yet minor interface limitations

Mar 11, 2024

Overall Rating 86%
  • Usefulness
  • Usability
  • Customer Experience
  • Likelihood to Recommend
What do you like best? By automating repetitive tasks, such as sending emails to candidates, updating statuses, screening questions, and scoring, ApplicantStack makes life easier for our hiring team. The beauty of this automation is that it reduces the time we spend on manual administrative work, allowing us to focus on strategic sourcing. This enables the tracking of applicants at each stage, sharing candidate profiles with hiring managers, and maintaining clear audit trails of all steps taken.
What do you dislike? Certain higher-level functions may appear rough around the edges. Search filters, for example, do not always permit search terms of a single character to be entered at the start of the letter, so finding candidates quickly is therefore a little slower than one would like. Additionally, the user interface could benefit from modernization, as some users feel it lacks the crisp responsiveness of newer tools. Our team also noted that training was needed for some custom workflow features.

A great applicant tracking and onboarding system for mid-sized teams

Apr 1, 2023

Overall Rating 89%

What do you like best? Our HR team adopted ApplicantStack and immediately noticed a more streamlined flow from job posting to onboarding. What really caught our eye was the ability to post jobs to multiple boards simultaneously, as well as the automatic sending of emails and text messages that update candidates at all stages. The system’s customizable workflows and status tracking ensure we never lose sight of applicants mid-process.
What do you dislike? Although ApplicantStack has solid functionality, the interface is somewhat outdated, and some of its more advanced capabilities require a learning curve. Setting up complex reports or customized forms, for instance, requires time for configuration and effort to determine what works and what doesn't. We had some cases where manager-level users required a finer-grained permission than the default configuration provided, and we had to reach out to support for changing the roles and access.
