Great Flexibility For My Training And Onboarding But Admin Controls Feel Clunky

What do you like best? I appreciate how flexible Brainshark is for updating and customizing training content. It allows me to tweak materials whenever something changes on my team, and sharing updated modules with different departments is easy. It has helped me streamline onboarding and keep everyone aligned on the same information.
What do you dislike? Some of the admin controls still feel clunky, and adjusting settings can take longer than it should. I’ve also had a few service requests sit longer than I expected. The platform overall works well for me, but those moments can interrupt my momentum when I’m trying to update something quickly.

Brainshark Layout Makes Courses Easy To Build But Some Tools Feel Hidden At First

What do you like best? I really like how clean and straightforward Brainshark feels when I’m putting together a course. The interface helped me stay focused, and I never felt buried in options. Once I understood where everything was, creating new modules became a smooth part of my workflow, and it made my training programs feel more organized.
What do you dislike? During my first several sessions, I struggled to find certain menus and tools. Some features felt hidden, and I had to click around more than expected. Over time, I figured out the layout, but those early moments definitely slowed me down more than I wanted.

Easy Platform That Helped Me Learn Fast But I Wish It Had More Editing Features

What do you like best? I was able to learn Brainshark quickly, which made it much easier to start building training content right away. I like that I can experiment with ideas without worrying about technical hurdles. The more I used it, the more confident I felt, and now I rely on it whenever I need to create a new piece of training material.
What do you dislike? I sometimes wish Brainshark had more editing features so I could fine-tune my content without switching to other tools. There are moments when I want more control over layouts or formatting. The basics work well, but a few missing features make certain details harder to adjust the way I want.

Makes Course Creation Simple And Quick For Me But Navigation Can Be Slow At First

What do you like best? Brainshark makes it easy for me to put together presentations and training courses without a lot of technical work. I can arrange slides, record audio, and publish updates pretty quickly. It has saved me a lot of time when preparing materials for my team, and I like how clean everything looks once it is finished.
What do you dislike? At first, I needed extra clicks to get to the tools I wanted, and that slowed me down during edits. It took a while before everything felt natural, and I sometimes wished the menu paths were shorter. Once I learned where things were, it became easier, but the beginning was slower than I hoped.

Brainshark Makes Training Smoother For My Team But Onboarding Is Tough At First

What do you like best? I find Brainshark incredibly easy to use, especially for creating and sharing short training videos. Once I understood the layout, I was able to build content much faster than I expected. It has helped new people on my team get up to speed quickly, and I like that I can prepare material without dealing with complicated steps.
What do you dislike? The first few days were rough because there are so many options and tools to understand. It felt like I had to figure things out through trial and error, and I would have loved a clearer guide during onboarding. After I got used to it, everything felt smoother, but those early steps definitely took some patience.

Highly effective sales training and onboarding tool with good analytics

What do you like best? Brainshark was an excellent solution for us for training sales staff and onboarding large teams across global regions. The content-creation tools enable us to upload slides, assist with voice narration, and create videos easily. Analytics and preparation scorecards provide valuable visibility into who has completed training, who requires coaching, and where performance gaps exist.
What do you dislike? The functionality is solid, but we did experience a few usability lapses within the admin interface. Folder and group management seemed dated, and at times, administering users and checking their progress needed additional manual work. Also, the mobile video player wasn’t the most reliable, and we want to be able to access more editing features in the tool itself (like trimming and merging videos). Seems solid overall, but feels like it could use a refresh.

Great for structured sales readiness, though pricing may be steep

What do you like best? Brainshark really shines when you require a more structured programme for sales readiness and role-play coaching or content authoring for non-technical users. The ability of subject matter experts to upload presentations, add voiceovers, quizzes, and launch modules without a deep technical background is a huge positive. We liked that the system integrates with our CRM and enables the sales team to consume training in a way that suits them.
What do you dislike? The cost structure is relatively high compared to simpler LMS or training tools, which means smaller organisations may find the investment harder to justify. In our case, we felt that innovation on the authoring side had lagged behind some of the newer entrants in this growing market. A few templates felt formulaic, and we wished there was greater flexibility in interactive learning design and micro-learning experiences beyond the traditional slide, narration, and quiz format.

Strong for enterprise training deployment with some usability hurdles

What do you like best? Brainshark helped us centralise content, report on completions, standardise curricula, and deliver consistent messages to our global workforce. The implementation support was very responsive, and the system's readiness features also helped us identify preparation gaps and proactively address them. One of its more useful features was the ability to update a presentation and propagate the changes without having to manage URLs or versioning manually.
What do you dislike? Although the functionality is quite expansive, the interface can be clunky at times, particularly when managing large numbers of users, courses, or transcripts. The mobile experience was cumbersome, and the compatibility with some older browsers was a point of friction for users. If you require very high-end interactivity or design creativity, you may encounter the platform's constraints fairly quickly. It was suitable for a generic type of training, but not for custom-made e-learning modules.

User-friendly content creation with limitations in advanced interactivity

Mar 9, 2021

Overall Rating 82%

What do you like best? One of the things we liked most about Brainshark is how it made content creation accessible. Even our non-programmer and non-designer trainers were able to create modules by uploading PowerPoint slides, narration, and quizzes, and then launching the training. That allowed us to move rapidly, which was important when we had frequent product updates. Reporting dashboards provided clear metrics such as view rates, quiz results, and learner interest, so we knew how effective our content was.
What do you dislike? That being said, we thought there was less interactivity than you would typically expect with purpose-built authoring tools. You may feel limited if your learning approach requires drag-and-drop simulations, branched scenarios, or rich animation/timing control. The quiz types and branching logic were basic, and mobile video on one of our devices had a bad user interface. At the same time, the prices set for smaller training programmes may lead to a lower return on investment (ROI).

Ideal for large-scale sales training rollout, yet not perfect for niche uses

What do you like best? Brainshark offers a powerful solution for organisations wanting to deploy consistent sales training, onboarding, or knowledge refresh programmes simultaneously across multiple locations. With this tool, we can execute training at scale by batch assigning tasks through our HR/tracking systems, utilizing role-play and coaching features for reinforcement, and providing dashboards of data for insights. We had confidence knowing that industry bodies had recognised it for its authoring readiness tools
What do you dislike? However, when we demand less formalization or more micro-learning, gamification, or highly interactive scenario-based modules, Brainshark did not seem to be hands-on. The more advanced modules took longer than expected to set up, and the interface often focused on slide-based learning rather than the contemporary, immersive e-learning built around engagement and interactivity. The pricing and complexity are excessive for small teams or those with very niche training purposes.
