What do you like best? Running payroll is a breeze now. If I make a mistake, the pre‑process register lets me easily delete and re-run which is something that used to be a nightmare. I used to dread Sundays before payday, but not anymore. Paylocity has made my life so much easier.
What do you dislike? The banking integration has extra layers of approvals that slow down routine tasks. Instead of speeding up payroll, the process often feels drawn out, and some users worry about delays in payment runs when multiple approvals don’t line up on time.

What do you like best? Having used Paylocity for over six years, I’ve seen it evolve into a truly comprehensive system. The integrated modules—payroll, time management, learning, onboarding, performance tracking—are intuitive and reliable, helping us reduce errors and streamline operations. Overall, it’s boosted our efficiency and improved new hire experiences
What do you dislike? Creating reports is fairly simple, but sharing them with colleagues or managers isn’t always user-friendly. Some users note issues with formatting or compatibility when uploading files. These small obstacles add up and make collaboration harder than it should be

Helpful service and easy daily use, but reporting is limited.

What do you like best? Customer service is an absolute delight! Quick responses, follow-through, and a helpful self‑service mechanism. The payroll module is very user-friendly, and I use Paylocity every day for hiring, onboarding, and employee maintenance. Bringing everything together in one place such as profiles, payroll, hiring. This makes my job so much smoother.
What do you dislike? The reporting tool covers only basic needs, but when it comes to tax details, loan adjustments, or benefits tracking, it lacks flexibility. For teams that need deeper customization, the system can feel a bit restrictive as it forces you to look for manual workarounds. Something the team at Paylocity should definitely look into!

Smooth Transition and Great Support from Paylocity

What do you like best? After switching from a big, clunky corporate provider, Paylocity has grown right alongside us, both in company size and feature use. It's user-friendly even for non‑tech folks. Integration went smoothly, from migrating our history to shadowing our first payroll run. Our Paylocity rep is top-tier: quick, accurate responses, with useful AI tools too.
What do you dislike? Why setting up payroll takes more steps than necessary is beyond me. It makes even simple edits to employee records feel time-consuming. When you’re under pressure to fix errors quickly, the number of clicks and pages you need to go through can become frustrating and inefficient.

What do you like best? Once Paylocity clicks, it’s so easy to use. Support is consistently helpful as you always get a real person on the phone. Integration across modules works seamlessly. Recognition, onboarding, recruiting work well and feel intuitive.
What do you dislike? Despite being a reliable platform, the time and labor tracking doesn’t always sync well with timesheets, creating extra admin work. Users also wish for more analytics or visual dashboards to understand patterns better. Without these features, the module feels less intuitive compared to other tools

Paylocity’s all-in-one solution simplifies HR for small teams but gets cumbersome at scale

What do you like best? For our small-to-mid-sized organization, Paylocity’s single-platform model has been the right step forward: we can tackle payroll, time tracking, benefits, PTO, and basic HR through a single dashboard. The self-service portal empowers employees to manage their own data and reduces HR’s administrative burden. Once set up, many processes run smoothly and predictably — especially pay runs and leave management — which saves us a lot of time.
What do you dislike? As we’ve grown, some limitations have become more noticeable. Bulk edits and mass updates (e.g., updating many employee records at once) are clunky or tedious. Some features seem more tailored to small companies; scaling up has exposed pain points. Also, when we run into less-common scenarios like complex benefit setups or unique payroll codes it makes resolution feel slow or unsatisfying.

Paylocity streamlines payroll and HR but sometimes frustrates with support delays

What do you like best? Switching to Paylocity improved payroll processing significantly: payroll is easier to run, employee information is better organized, and features like time tracking and direct deposit management save considerable time. Its mobile-friendly portal is a boon for employees, allowing self-service for payslips, time cards, and leave requests. We appreciate having payroll, benefits, time tracking, and HR in a single ecosystem which reduces the need for multiple vendors.
What do you dislike? Customer support can be inconsistent. While many issues are resolved smoothly, more complex problems especially around reporting or benefits setup may take multiple follow-ups. Additionally, some HR functions feel rigid and not easily customizable to our unique workflows, making certain tasks more manual than one would expect.

A generally reliable all-in-one HR system with room for better user experience and support

What do you like best? Paylocity provides a complete solution for HR, employees, and payroll that lets you handle most aspects of the employee lifecycle in one place. The interface is relatively user-friendly, and many of the processes, such as payroll runs, check processing, are much easier to do than doing them manually. When we encounter snags, customer service typically gets back to us. For most organizations, it provides a consolidated, structured HR toolbox that reduces errors and administrative overhead.
What do you dislike? The platform’s complexity becomes obvious when dealing with advanced configurations. For example, editing PTO accrual rules or configuring cost centers has required submitting detailed support requests, which can feel cumbersome and unclear. The UI tends to be broad and somewhat cluttered, forcing me to jump between multiple sections just to complete related tasks; a smoother experience would be helpful.

Balanced HR platform with dependable basics, but expect occasional friction for complex needs

What do you like best? Paylocity handles the essentials reliably: payroll, basic HR, benefits, time-off requests, and direct deposit workflows are all accessible and function smoothly. The interface is clean enough to learn quickly, and for standard day-to-day activities, the system is efficient. Customer support tends to respond when needed, particularly for simple questions. For many companies, especially those without highly complex HR needs, it offers a straightforward, centralized solution.
What do you dislike? Where Paylocity struggles is customisation and advanced configuration. Trying to tweak accrual rules or set up bespoke payroll codes has been a hassle, sometimes requiring lengthy support exchanges. The user interface can feel overwhelming when navigating between modules, and finding the right setting often takes multiple clicks. For businesses with heavy customization or advanced HR workflows, these limitations can slow things down.

Good for standard HR needs, but customization and reporting still pose challenges

What do you like best? For regular HR duties including payroll, simple time and attendance, and standard benefits enrollment,Paylocity gets the job done. Many of our daily operations are being conducted more efficiently. The basic reporting features are adequate for common business needs, and the cloud-based, self-service environment helps employees access information easily from anywhere. For smaller to medium-sized teams with straightforward needs, the platform is a solid choice.
What do you dislike? However, the reporting options are not very flexible. And on the few occasions when I wanted to try creating more sophisticated or specialized reports, it would usually entail a workaround or a call to support. This can be frustrating for businesses that require more robust reporting and analytics capabilities. Second, the ability to integrate with external accounting or payroll modules took longer than anticipated, which delayed some of the benefits of automation.
