The Importance Of Raising Self-Confidence In Online Training

As Stephen R. Covey, the author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal, so aptly put it: "To change ourselves effectively, we first had to change our perceptions." Creating A Virtual Spanish Language Learning Community

Spanish speaking children, teens, and adults use their public libraries for a variety of programs, classes, materials, and other services and resources. Many public library professionals who don’t speak Spanish lament their inability to serve these patrons as effectively as they would like. Many, though, have an admirable desire to learn. As you would guess, we don’t have time or money to travel to instructor-led language classes and, anyway, we are 16% through the 21st century! So, the Indiana State Library Spanish Language Learning Community is getting together in a virtual environment to learn and practice speaking in ways that relate to our library roles. Here is my first chapter in Aprendiendo con Bibliotecarios (Learning with Librarians) with details on the framework, development of the curriculum and assessment tool, and the web-based tools we are using for learning and conversation practice.

Why Software Licensing Must Consider The Needs Of The End User

As the traditional software application market migrates from the desktop to the enterprise and mobile, end user license management becomes a must-have design issue for software development servicing the eLearning community. For more than twenty-five years, I have had the pleasure of working with commercial software development teams. My first real lesson came when I joined Software Publishing Corporation as VP of development where end user awareness was more important than features. And then there was the effort involved with consumer-based software authentication in the form of end user licensing. I was surprised how much time we spent in internal warfare discussing how best to enforce user access with product management, financial, and legal effort. I’ve learned some dos and don’ts about software licensing that I’d like to share. Warning: This is going to sound a little preachy.

How To Book The Right Spanish Voiceover Talent For Your eLearning Project

Those who know me at a professional level know that I am a strong advocate of my first language: Spanish. This is a feeling that has grown stronger over time, especially from the moment I decided to reside in the United States. As a professional Spanish voiceover artist –and a curious human being–, I became aware that in this profession I was surrounded by talents who, although Spanish speaking, were not 100% native or who didn't have a complete understanding of the grammatical rules and nuances of the language. Here is how to overcome this issue and book the right Spanish voiceover for your eLearning project.
