Gamification: Key To Corporate Sales Training Success

When I was at school, there was a common (not funny) teacher joke that went something like this, “Don’t laugh, people will think you’re having fun.” Smiles were stifled, replaced with scorn but we couldn’t hide our guilty truth: we liked learning. Planning Digital Learning For K12 Classroom

Ravi is a grade VII student. Recently, his school got interactive whiteboards installed in the classroom. He was very excited about the Science class last Monday, which was the first class to use the smart-board. Gamification Does Not Equal Games, It Equals Engagement And Innovation

You have probably heard the definition:  Gamification is the concept of applying game mechanics and game design techniques to engage a target audience to change behavior, learn new skills or engage in innovation or problem solving skills. If an employee can learn new skills, be more engaged, and be innovative or increase problem-solving skills then why aren’t more companies embracing gamification? I believe some companies feel that gamification equals “games”, and they feel they don’t have time for their employees to play games. In this article, I am going to give two great examples of how gamification can change different types of training material and have a positive result.

Workplace Training Now Needs To Be More Flexible And Adaptive Than Ever

When I read that there is a “significant gap” between the skills and capabilities Learning and Development practitioners know they need compared to what they actually have, (according to latest research from the UK's Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) and research organization Towards Maturity), it came as very little surprise. [1] Workplace training needs to be more flexible, adaptive and innovative as staff are taking the lead on their training requirements not the Learning and Development department.
